Drift eyewear

Drift eyewear

About the company

“DRIFT Eyewear® is a company founded on quality, craftsmanship, and a desire to push the eyewear industry to a new level through technological innovation and ecological consciousness”.

My summary

The following information all comes from the company itself, so is not independently verified. I don’t therefore feel I can give a category. However, on the basis of the materials put out by the company, at the very least they are working to reduce their use of non renewable resources while using renewable resources (ie wood) in a product which is traditionally largely made from petrochemical derived materials.

From the company:

“All of the materials used to craft our products are carefully chosen with the environment in mind. When you wear DRIFT you are supporting your environment by supporting the businesses that help keep our air clean, our water clear, and our forests healthy.

These are produced in the USA

No information, although unlike most eye glasses, these are made in the USA.

  • other environmental claims or benefits

“We share a portion of our profits supporting local agents for change. We are a proud member of 1% for the planet where we donate 1% of profits every year to U.S. based companies to help improve our planet”.

(I’m not entirely sure why they would be giving money to ‘companies’ but certainly the 1% for the planet program supports some great environmental causes).
