BPA banned in beverage containers in two US states

This is from late January, but still relevant for people here.

Only days after the US Food and Drug Administration shifted its position on bisphenol-A (BPA) as having “some concern” of its effects on people, two US states have taken matters into their own hands. Washington and Wisconsin have both approved measures to ban the ingredient found in baby bottles and other food and beverage containers, becoming the third and fourth states to do so. Connecticut and Minnesota were the first states to prohibit the ingredient which is said to affect “the brain, behaviour and prostate gland in foetuses, infants and young children,” according to the FDA.

As more and more equipment manufacturers are offering BPA free drink bottles, it does make sense to heed the opinion of the USA FDA in regards to this chemical.
